Gast and Seiff with Big Wins,
Gibson Unstoppable

Maybe they should rename this season of UGT the Dan Gibson show. The easygoing youngster didn't even need a second run in Serious Sam to snag a third win this week in Crossover, beating out Alex Hetu by less than a second. Gibson is the first to get that third win and felt that it was his week to lose, saying, "I was pretty confident. I've logged quite a few hours in Serious Sam over the years."

He even went so far as to joke, of Alex Hetu's oh-so-close final run when something mysteriously killed him from full health, "I'm glad I paid off the UGT board to implement a kill switch that I could press should any competitors come within a second of my time. $3.50 well spent." What isn't a joke is Dan's incredible run this season, winning both of his crossover weeks and tacking on an additional Premier League win and two second-place finishes.

Champions League crossover contender Eric Holmberg-Weidler must have done something to anger the UGT gods, as he managed to lay down a record time in his practice run only to end up with a few mediocre times when it counted.

In the Premier League, rookie Ryan Seiff, after a first-week win followed by a string of disappointments seemed to set his season pointing the right way again with a win. No one got anywhere near his time of 3:12.07 - except maybe Holmberg-Weidler in practice - and the win sets Seiff up well for the playoffs.

In the Champions League, Charles Gast isn't a name that came up too often in the first half of the season, but that all changed when Gast set down a time of 3:02.67, bettering his nearest competition - Geoff Mitchell - by over ten seconds and securing Gast's first win. It's a win that could punch Gast's ticket to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the second-place finish put Mitchell right on the doorstep of the top 4, only one point back from John Berges and Isaac Epp. While Berges and Epp aren't in too much danger of missing the playoffs with their 2 wins, a few more solid weeks could see Mitchell in the top four and his first-ever UGT playoffs.

With four weeks left, the playoff race is only going to get hotter. Who will take home a potentially crucial crossover win next week? Can Gibson keep winning? And what will the final four games be?
